Paris...via Vegas

My aboslute favorite photo from this trip!  I discovered the infamous "Blue Hour" which is the hour right after the sun goes down and the sky is naturally illuminated a fabulous indigo blue.
For once, what happened in Vegas is not staying in Vegas!
I plan to use the blue hour to capture great shots.

Princess Birthday

I had so much fun at her birthday party! Bowling, pizza, and cupcakes, topped off with tons of smiling kids.

First Photo Meet-Up

My first-ever photo meetup was an invitaion to the Houston Museum of Natural Science. About 35 photographers in various levels in the art showed up and had full-access to the exhibits of butterflies, gems, and anthropology.  I learned about lighting set-ups, flash, soft boxes, tripods by watching some of the others as they worked.  The photo of the Faberge` necklace above is one of my favorites because I was able to capture not only the necklace, but a clear reflection of it in panels of it's glass case. Below is a 4-pound quartz cluster, which is a little blown out and over-exposed in the center.  But could have been corrected if I turned the F-stop up a notch. The process of learning.

New York in the Fall

I usually hit up NYC in October for the Thurgood Marshall College Fund Leadership Institute. The fall season is beautiful because you can see so many different colors.

One of my absolute favorite shots.
I was riding in a car going about 65 miles per hour and shot only one frame, through the windshield.

Champagne Life

October is a month of many birthdays, including myself and several of my friends. Some weeks there was a birthday party every single night!

Blue

Capturing light is the essence of photography. Can you capture what you see with your eyes in your device? I'm learning more with each shutter release.

Happy Birthday to Me

I loved the wine & gift bag my friend Misty Blue gave me. It made me think about entering the next phase of life and what aging responsibly really means.   It was an amazing evening out on the patio. Thanks.

Pretty Wings

Seats for this concert were great. The production manager saw my camera and almost had me put out of the arena, which would have been a tragedy! Great performace from a talented artist.
